Many dental professionals have reverted back to practices from before the COVID pandemic. But is this a best practice for respiratory protection? Are we adequately protected during aerosol-generating procedures? This is concerning, given the increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, and other respiratory disease threats reported by the CDC. The CE webinar will focus on these current issues, the selection of appropriate respiratory protection, proper utilization of masks or respirators, and the science and testing behind this very important article of PPE.
During this CE webinar, we will • Identify pre and post COVID pitfalls with respiratory protection in dentistry • Compare the protective characteristics of face masks and respirators • Assess the potential for exposure to airborne transmissible diseases in dental settings • Create standard operating procedures for respiratory protection and patient screening
